Second Istanbul Forum to Convene in Istanbul for 3 days

The Second Istanbul Forum on the Middle East organized by the Center for Strategic Communication (STRATIM) will convene at the Conrad Hotel in Istanbul on Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

Many highly regarded statesmen and journalists will participate in the convention, including Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu; the chairman of the Center for Strategic Research (SAM), Bülent Aras; one of the organizers of the conference and former AKP Çankırı deputy Suat Kınıklıoğlu; and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu.

The subjects that are be dealt with during the convention will mostly concern Turkey’s influence on the Arab World, its neighborhood policy in the Middle East, energy and politics in the Caucasus and Turkey’s deteriorating relations with Israel. The forum aims to tackle critical international issues on the global agenda and bring together politicians, analysts, think-tanks and journalists from different parts of the world.

The forum will begin on Monday evening with a speech from Davutoğlu and continue until Wednesday afternoon.
