Istanbul's Film Event of the Year Comes to a Close

The largest film event in Istanbul, the Istanbul International Film Festival, ended Sunday. The closing award ceremony of the 30th festival was organized Saturday at the Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Center. Turkish singer Şevval Sam performed at the event.

The Golden Tulip International Competition Award of the festival, which is given in memory of the founder and former chairman of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, or IKSV, late Şakir Eczacıbaşı, was presented to Ahmad Abdalla’s film “Microphone.” Abdalla received his award from the head of the Golden Tulip International Competition Jury, director Claire Denis.
