Istanbul's second bridge over Bosphorus illuminated

Following in the footsteps of the Bosphorus Bridge, Istanbul’s Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge is now preparing to light up Istanbul citizens’ evening commutes with unique decorative lighting.


The tender process for the illumination was completed on Dec. 11, 2009 and the test work has been completed.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has also supported the illumination project.

Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbaş said just like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Istanbul’s bridges had symbolic value identified with the city.
